Rochester, Minnesota’s blossoming music scene has become the fertile ground for a rising and wonderfully distinct independent talent. Aiden Kramer, better known by his stage persona CallMeDriver, is fast becoming one of its most intriguing exports. As a self-reliant multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Kramer has spent years picking apart every layer of his craft. Handling everything from initial guitar riffs to final mixing and mastering, he builds lush soundscapes rooted in indie rock grit, pop hooks, and atmospheric nuance.
Having drawn early creative inspiration from standard-bearers like Hippo Campus, Mac DeMarco, and The 1975, CallMeDriver has steadily sculpted a sonic signature uniquely his own. That artistic progression comes into sharp focus on ‘The Singles’, a four-track project gathering previously released fan favourites ‘Wishbone’, ‘New York’, ‘Wolf’, and his newest standout cut, ‘The Moment’.
Where earlier material showcased a penchant for introspective alternative textures, ‘The Moment’ hits as a striking leap forward. Richly layered and pulsating with dynamic energy, the track captures a musician stepping confidently into higher-gear pop production.
Talking about the shift in sound, Kramer explained on Instagram, “This track is a major evolution from my last two releases. I’ve put a massive emphasis on production growth, pulling heavy inspiration from artists like LUPIN and Charli XCX, mixed with my deep passion for pop production.”
‘The Moment’ balances danceable rhythm with crisp production, proving that self-produced indie artists can easily deliver main-stage energy without losing their personal edge. Born from Kramer’s desire to make a hyper-upbeat track that you can dance and vibe to, it was brought to life while working closely with his buddy Ryan Cabuag, a talented artist from the Bay Area.
The track has become an exciting milestone for an artist operating on his own terms, so make sure you stream it now on Spotify and Bandcamp. For more, be sure to keep up with CallMeDriver’s latest releases and gig dates on Instagram and X.
