Made Wrong Triumphantly Emerge With New Single 'Summer Wars'

A decade after establishing themselves as pivotal figures within Queensland's heavy music landscape, the beloved Brisbane quintet formerly operating as Dollarosa are stepping into a bold new era. Now rebranded as Made Wrong, the group have resurfaced with their searing, emotionally vulnerable single, 'Summer Wars'.

Long-time followers will recall the band dominating local iconic spaces like Crowbar and Miami Shark Bar during the mid-2010s. Their breakthrough 2012 record, 'The Never Ending Unfamiliar', scored Apple Music chart positions, garnered high praise across major publications, and earned them coveted tour slots alongside heavyweights such as Story of the Year, Flyleaf, and Funeral For a Friend across Australia and Japan.

However, their journey was halted. Following a step back from live performances in 2018 to regroup and compose new material, the musicians encountered a series of significant setbacks, including global pandemic disruptions. Rather than folding, the five-piece channelled their shared history into a complete artistic reinvention.

'Summer Wars' acts as the ultimate statement of this comeback. Channelling the raw, unpolished energy of golden-era post-hardcore pioneers like Underoath, Finch, and Thrice, the track balances delicate vulnerability with explosive sonic power. At its core lies an intimately devastating narrative penned by frontman Lachlan Dann, which explores the complex grief and helpless frustration of acting as a carer for a loved one battling a terminal condition.

Reflecting on the track's poignant foundation, Dann shares: “The line 'you are my star' has a literal connection to a star that was named in this person’s memory after they passed away, while also representing the idea that someone can remain a point of light in your life even after they are gone.”

The track masterfully captures this emotional tension, shifting seamlessly between quiet melancholic moments and visceral outbursts of cathartic noise. It serves as a reminder that true artistic resilience can transform deep heartache into something utterly compelling.
