Late Night Feelings' ‘Heartstopper’ Is a Luminous, Romantic Return

Brooklyn-born artist Karan, known more prominently by his musical moniker Late Night Feelings, is back with ‘Heartstopper’, a track that feels like the warm, golden hour glow of a perfect memory. The single marks the first taste of his upcoming EP, 'In Your Dreams', due out on November 14th, and it’s a confident, sun-drenched evolution for the bedroom pop pioneer.

While his debut EP, 'Heartbreak Hotel', was a reflective and introspective journey through melancholic moments, ‘Heartstopper’ turns a new page. While it’s still deeply personal, the tone is decidedly brighter, stemming from the song’s origins as a wedding gift for his sister and brother-in-law.

The track showcases Karan’s knack for crafting an intimate yet expansive soundscape. Shimmering synths, a gentle, pulsing beat, and his signature airy vocals combine to create a dreamy, atmospheric texture. It's a hallmark of the bedroom pop genre, allowing the song to breathe and grow organically, without ever sacrificing the emotive quality, DIY approach, and unfiltered honesty.

Lyrically, Karan walks an intimate line between blissful and poetic, offering encompassing lines that can be felt and easily understood. Lyrics like, “lost in those perfect eyes, under starry skies, and I’ve got a feeling, this might be it,” hit with a familiar touch, creating a sense of magic that is backed effortlessly by the instrumentals.

Through and through, ‘Heartstopper’ is a telling showcase of subtlety and charm. The production is clean and spacious, allowing the simple melodies to shine. You can hear the influence of artists known for their emotive pop sensibilities, but Karan filters these sounds through his own sincere and restrained delivery, making every word feel authentic and linger for a while.

With the new EP, Karan aims to explore "the in-between moments we don’t always know how to talk about," and ‘Heartstopper’ is the perfect introduction to this theme. It's a song about finding and cherishing a genuine connection before it fades, a sentiment that is both personal and universally relatable. It’s gentle, confident, and full of heart, making it a truly fitting first taste of Late Night Feelings’ new chapter.

You can pre-save the new EP now ahead of its release in November, and for more from Late Night Feelings, be sure to connect on Instagram and YouTube, or via his website.
