The Lemon Twigs Find Their Focus on New LP, 'Look For Your Mind!'

Long Island siblings Brian and Michael D’Addario have spent years meticulously building a sun-drenched, retro-pop universe. However, their sixth studio album, 'Look For Your Mind!'—available now via Captured Tracks / Civilians—proves that the multi-instrumentalist duo are still finding fresh ways to expand their guitar-driven framework.

For a long time, the D’Addarios operated entirely as a closed duo within the studio tracking rooms, meticulously layering every single element themselves. This time around, they have opened the doors. The album welcomes the rhythmic energy of their touring band, with drummer Reza Matin and bassist Danny Ayala stepping up to the microphone and instruments, alongside Tchotchke’s Eva Chambers. This shift gives the collection an organic, collaborative elasticity, letting the tracks breathe with a directness shaped by countless hours on the road.

Despite the sparkling melodies, there is a distinct thematic shift happening beneath the surface. 'Look For Your Mind!' contrasts its bright, hook-heavy arrangements with a lyrical exploration of contemporary anxiety. “I do think that now is a time of insanity. You really have to hold onto your own mind if you don’t wanna lose it,” says Brian, grounding the record’s jangling 12-string guitars with a sharp sense of modern urgency.

The foundations for this current era were poured during their recent creative hot streak. The band's previous two LPs for Captured Tracks, 'Everything Harmony' and 'A Dream Is All We Know', functioned as a definitive reset button for the group. “It was the beginning of making records that we would listen to ourselves,” says Michael D’Addario, the younger Twig brother, now aged 26. That era sparked the momentum that carries directly into these new tracks, anchored by the sharp craftsmanship of early singles like ‘I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You’ and the punchy ‘2 or 3’.

Though Australian audiences haven't seen the band since their 2023 tour dates across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Harvest Rock festival, the group is currently busy bringing these new songs to stages across the globe. The Twigs are in the middle of a massive 2026 international tour spanning the US, Canada, the UK, and Ireland.

You can stream 'Look For Your Mind!' on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp today. To buy the record on vinyl or secure tickets for their upcoming tour dates, head over to the band's website, and join the band today on Instagram and Facebook.
