Independent Stoke-on-Trent singer-songwriter Olivia Miceli has unveiled her latest track, 'Everybody Wants Him', serving as the final teaser before her third studio album, 'A Romantic’s Worst Nightmare', arrives on 25th August.
Known for crafting candid indie-pop, Miceli began writing songs at the age of 12 after inheriting a neighbour’s piano. She soon expanded her palette to the guitar and ukulele, eventually teaching herself home production during the 2020 lockdown. That DIY ethos remains fully intact here; 'Everybody Wants Him' was entirely written, recorded, produced, and mastered by Miceli herself. The result is one of her most exuberant offerings so far, blending early 2000s synth-pop energy with modern influences akin to Floweroflove, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lily Allen.
Lyrically, the track dives headfirst into the chaotic whirlwind of infatuation. Miceli captures every angle of having an all-consuming crush—from the sheer delight of being enamoured to the toe-curling moments of second-hand self-embarrassment. The self-designed album artwork features natural, floral imagery—a striking juxtaposition to the project's title that underscores a longing for genuine human connection outside of digital screens.
Having already built a global footprint—earning rotation on BBC Radio 6 Music with Tom Robinson alongside support from listeners across the UK, Italy, and Australia—Miceli continues to cement her reputation as an exceptionally versatile bedroom-pop producer.
