Sydney-based singer-songwriter LEIANNA is steadily cementing her reputation as one of the most compelling storytellers in Australia’s contemporary indie scene. Her musical journey began early in Newcastle, picking up the violin at just three years old. Growing up writing lyrics and performing in church, her talents quickly drew wider recognition. At fourteen, she was chosen from over 600 applicants as one of four core songwriters in the ASPIRE musical program, alongside taking on a role as a featured singer. Following a stint teaching musical theatre, she moved to Sydney to study at the Australian Institute of Music. That background shows in her relentless work ethic, having clocked up over 60 live performances in the past year alone.
LEIANNA’s genre-fluid songwriting acts as a canvas for her distinct perspectives. Together, the ten tracks across both releases showcase an ability to merge bedroom-scale intimacy with atmospheric arrangements, capturing over 1,400 streams and a growing audience.
