Modest Mouse Return with 'An Eraser And A Maze'

Five years of silence from the Modest Mouse camp has officially broken. The indie rock veterans have emerged with their eighth full-length studio effort, 'An Eraser And A Maze', offering fans a substantial new chapter to dive into. Arriving via Glacial Pace Recordings and Virgin Music Group, the sprawling 15-track collection represents the band’s most significant creative statement in half a decade.

Frontman Isaac Brock took the reins on production for this expansive project, but he did not steer the ship alone. To shape the sonic identity of the tracks, Brock collaborated with a diverse lineup of high-profile co-producers. The studio team features veteran rock producer Jacknife Lee (known for his work with U2 and REM), Suzy Shinn (Weezer), and experimental pop collaborator Justin Raisen (Charli xcx, Kim Gordon, Lil Yachty). This combination of creative minds infuses the band’s signature quirky indie style with fresh, unexpected textures across the massive tracklist.

Alongside the full album drop, Modest Mouse has treated fans to a striking visual accompaniment for the track 'Life’s A Dream'. The accompanying music video was filmed on location in Portland, serving as a hometown backdrop for some seriously bizarre storytelling. Directed by Brock himself, alongside co-directors Zach Storer and Chris Raab, the video functions as a complete fever dream. It populates the screen with an eccentric cast of characters, purposefully designed to distort the boundaries where nighttime hallucinations meet waking reality.

The highly anticipated record is available across all major distribution networks right now. You can stream 'An Eraser And A Maze' in its entirety on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
