Lapse Level Up with 'Hindsight' and Announce Debut EP

Sydney indie-rock four-piece Lapse are accelerating their momentum with the release of their striking new single ‘Hindsight’. Serving as the second offering from their forthcoming debut EP, 'All It Took Was You', the track digs deep into the lingering frustration of a breakup left unresolved, dissecting the restless mental space where endless questions outnumber concrete answers.

Moving beyond the reflective atmosphere of their debut single ‘October’, ‘Hindsight’ delivers a sharper, dynamic shift. The band lean into larger guitar textures, an assertive rhythm section, and a raw, edgy framework that amplifies their signature emotional transparency. Recorded in tandem with producer Daniel Antix at Def Wolf Studios and mixed and mastered by George Georgiadis at Little Wing Sound, the production sharpens the quintentially relatable experience of replaying past moments in search of hidden signals.

Reflecting on the track’s origins, Lapse frontman Ryan Mulligan explains, “‘Hindsight’ was written during a difficult transitional period of my life out of a relationship. I hope people can listen and resonate with their own experiences, ultimately finding some comfort through music in the shared experience."

Drummer Bri Goss adds, “‘Hindisight’ is definitely one of our favourite songs. It’s a huge track with a bouncy bass line and euphoric choruses. We hope people love this one as much as we do!”.

The new single lands alongside the formal announcement of 'All It Took Was You', set to arrive this October with both ‘October’ and ‘Hindsight’ anchoring the tracklist. It builds on an impressive run of live appearances, including a debut on The Lansdowne mainstage, a packed-out headline launch, and a standout set at Newcastle's ‘Home Grown Festival’ at Bar On The Hill. Catch them next at Northies in Cronulla alongside The Good Kids and Goonbag for a free show in the Shire!

Stream ‘Hindsight’ on Spotify now, and keep up with Lapse on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok for updates on the EP.
