Aussie country powerhouse Brad Cox is back with a bang, dropping his liberating new single ‘Better Off Without It’ through Warner Music Australia. Coming fresh off the back of his massive Endemic Intelligence In Multiple Dimensions Tour, the four-time ARIA nominee is giving fans another taste of fresh music as he continues his unstoppable run.
The new track is an uplifting, self-assured country anthem that leans into the art of prioritising your own peace and shedding the baggage holding you back. Following on from his top 15 Countrytown Airplay hit ‘What Are The Odds’, ‘Better Off Without It’ showcases Cox’s trademark warmth and effortless storytelling.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the release, Cox shared: “This is a song about recognising when it’s time to move on. Sparked by a mate who finally bushed his toxic ex and got on with his life. Recorded like we were sitting on the verandah and playing as we do. Sometimes you're better off without it”. That relaxed, porch-side Jam session energy shines through every chord, blending unpolished sincerity with a roaring, singalong chorus.
It continues a brilliant trajectory for the Jindabyne-born artist. Ever since making waves with his 2018 self-titled debut, Cox has consistently dominated the scene. His 2020 record My Mind’s Projection nabbed the top spot on the ARIA Australian Country Album Chart, whilst 2023’s acclaimed ACRES scored a Golden Guitar for Top Selling Country Album. His 2025 release, Endemic Intelligence In Multiple Dimensions, landed comfortably in the ARIA Top 10, proving that his hook-filled storytelling only hits harder with time.
Supporters won't have to wait long to catch the new material live, either. Cox is set to gear up for a massive October on the festival circuit, joining heavyweights including Post Malone, Bailey Zimmerman, Cooper Alan, and Stella Lefty for the travelling Strummingbird Festival across Ballarat, Newcastle, and the Sunshine Coast.
