Last Dinosaurs Unveil 'WELLNXSS' and 2026 Anniversary Tour

There is a particular brand of indie-pop euphoria that seems hard-coded into the DNA of Last Dinosaurs. For over ten years, the Brisbane-bred trio has cultivated a sound that feels both nostalgic and perpetually fresh, garnering a global following that stretches from the sun-soaked coasts of Australia to the festival stages of South America and beyond.

Emerging during the early 2010s indie explosion, the band quickly established themselves as hometown heroes. Their signature blend of intricate, driving guitar work and lush, atmospheric synthesisers provided a dream-like escapism that resonated deeply with a generation of listeners. Now, with five studio albums under their belt, the group is looking back at the record that arguably defined their trajectory.

This year, Last Dinosaurs are marking the tenth anniversary of their sophomore effort, 'Wellness'. To celebrate, they are releasing a reimagined version of the album titled 'WELLNXSS', set to drop on February 13th via Nettwerk. This rework offers a fresh perspective on the material, featuring re-recorded tracks and five previously unreleased songs from that era, including the shimmering track ‘Drive’.

Reflecting on the album’s legacy, band member Sean Caskey shared, “Ten years ago, Lach, Sloane, Dan, and I released our sophomore album, 'WELLNESS'! It was the second chance for four boys from Brisbane State High to make another leap in the music world. I used to look back on this album as a bit of a failure, as there was so much pressure to follow up [2012 debut] 'IN A MILLION YEARS’, but now I see it as the catalyst for the way we make music today. It forced us to completely change our approach to recording music by doing it all ourselves. This was after we dropped the demos on YouTube; the reaction to those lo-fi recordings was a massive surprise to us. That really inspired us to have more confidence in our own abilities and was the driving force behind [2018’s] 'YUMENO GARDEN'. We’re so thankful to our fans, because it’s your positive energy that motivates us to keep pushing ourselves in the direction we need to go.”

The celebrations aren't limited to the studio. This June, the band will hit the Australian East Coast for the Wellness Anniversary Tour. Joining them for the ride are California’s own Bad Suns, promising a high-energy pairing that will undoubtedly light up winter dance floors.

Since 'Wellness' first arrived, the band's reach has grown exponentially. In 2025 alone, they amassed over 29 million global streams, proving that tracks like ‘Apollo’ and ‘Wurl’ have lost none of their infectious pull. Whether you're a long-time devotee or a new listener, this tour is a rare chance to witness a pivotal chapter of Australian indie history in full flight. Tickets are available for pre-sale now!
