PostOmnis Redefines the Ethereal with His Glitching Digital LP

California-based polymath Seán Graves has never been one for the predictable, but with his latest offering under the PostOmnis moniker, he has effectively dismantled the scaffolding of modern electronica. His upcoming full-length record, ‘Mysticism’, scheduled for arrival on the 20th of February, is less an album and more a cinematic descent into a Lynchian netherworld.

With the lead single, ‘When I See Your Eyes’ featuring Evangile, we were given a glimpse into the album, and into PostOmnis’ glitching, wonderfully distorted reality. It’s a track that "rips the spine out of traditional romantic balladry" and reassembles it amidst a fog of spectral synths and glitch-laden percussion.

The full album itself is a masterclass in building and breaking tension, balancing the cold precision of sound design with a raw, bleeding heart. While earlier cult releases like ‘Ghost and Ashes’ established Graves’ knack for dark immersion, ‘Mysticism’ feels more confrontational in its abstraction. ‘Machina Obscura’ leans into a gritty, industrial pulse that whispers with post-hardcore aesthetics, whereas ‘Chaos In Rain’ (featuring CBW) provides a startling, buoyant contrast, glitching with a melodic jubilance that feels almost defiant.

What elevates ‘Mysticism’ above its contemporaries is the marriage of synthetic architecture and human vulnerability. It is rare for an independent electronic project to feel this organic. Whether it’s the IAMX-adjacent celestial energy of the opening tracks or the free-form, jazz-inspired liberation of ‘Taltos’, Graves ensures you never get too comfortable. By the time the record reaches its poignant, piano-driven finale, ‘Margaret’, you aren't just finishing an album; you are emerging from a transmission from the warped ether of grief and longing.

In a world of background noise, PostOmnis has delivered a profound exploration of the digital and the divine. You can hear the full album later this month and the lead single ‘When I See Your Eyes’ now. For more, be sure to join Seán Graves through his website, or on Twitch and X.
