California-based polymath Seán Graves has never been one for the predictable, but with his latest offering under the PostOmnis moniker, he has effectively dismantled the scaffolding of modern electronica. His upcoming full-length record, ‘Mysticism’, scheduled for arrival on the 20th of February, is less an album and more a cinematic descent into a Lynchian netherworld.
With the lead single, ‘When I See Your Eyes’ featuring Evangile, we were given a glimpse into the album, and into PostOmnis’ glitching, wonderfully distorted reality. Whether it’s the IAMX-adjacent celestial energy of the opening tracks or the free-form, jazz-inspired liberation of ‘Taltos’, Graves ensures you never get too comfortable. By the time the record reaches its poignant, piano-driven finale, ‘Margaret’, you aren't just finishing an album; you are emerging from a transmission from the warped ether of grief and longing.
