Flower Girl and the Forces of Love Deliver An Ensnaring New LP

Macon, Georgia-based duo Evan O’Quinn and Micca Pettis have spent years cultivating a distinct musical universe for themselves. From first meeting in a high school art class back in 2017 to launching Baby Duck Records, the duo has been on a creative hot streak, carving out a scintillating sonic identity.

After three albums firmly rooted in the niche world of future funk, their fourth full-length record, ‘STICKERZ’, arrives as a well-curated evolution. Released in February 2026, the 12-track project steps away from their established vaporwave roots to dive headfirst into the wider electronic spectrum, resulting in a balanced, exhilarating, and wonderfully entrancing body of work.

Wrapped in an album cover clad in a vibrant mix of stickers, there’s an instant sense of the mix-and-match energy that permeates the tracks. The duo intentionally crafted the record to mirror the fluid energy of a mixtape, drawing heavily from their favourite EDM subgenres. From deep house and UK garage to old-school house and dubstep, ‘STICKERZ’ is a love letter to the dancefloor, where seemingly disparate club elements fuse into a surprisingly cohesive whole.

It’s a record that shines brightest during its moments of experimentation. For listeners seeking a classic four-to-the-floor groove, ‘STICKERZ’ delivers plenty of straightforward house music that is sure to impress. Where it all really excels though, is when Flower Girl and the Forces of Love veer into the unknown. 'FOCUS (TRUST)' and 'DOWNFORCE' stand out immediately, boasting heavy, infectious basslines that demand a loud sound system. The former brilliantly marries classic rhythms with aggressive bass house, injecting a welcome dose of grit into the track list.

The seamless transitions between tracks keep the continuous mix alive along its run, creating a wonderfully cohesive feel that holds between the shifting styles. The momentum builds beautifully towards the record's final stretch, culminating in some brilliant moments like ‘TOURISM’, OUT OF CONTROL’, and ‘ALWAYS KNEW’. Instant standouts that breathe beautifully with a touch of class, they create a perfect, dreamy, but driven, mix of vocals and synths that lingers perfectly.

While the shift from future funk might surprise long-time followers, the immaculate sound design ensures their DNA remains intact. ‘STICKERZ’ is a confident, rhythmically sophisticated record that proves Flower Girl and the Forces of Love are far more than a one-genre act.
