Mysterious US duo Dathomirror Doors might be avoiding the spotlight, but their debut EP ‘Abandon Love’ speaks loudly enough on its own. Formed by Joey Depp and Ant Demico, the underground outfit blends shadowy gothic rock with modern metal undercurrents across five immersive tracks. The title track opens the record in a wash of spacey guitars and uneasy, ruminative beats. Tension builds rapidly as Joey’s vocals cut through the murky mix, delivering stark confessions like "I will never trust a soul again" before locking into the heavy refrain of "Abandon love". That unsettling energy carries straight into 'Burned Alive', a track that creeps into focus with stepped percussion and hypnotic vocal lines submerged beneath layers of reverb.
