Bruno Brocchi Goes Retro With The Nostalgic ‘Underground Love’

Some artists find their voice in one place; Bruno Brocchi found his by never staying still. Born in Brazil and subsequently shaped by stints in the United States, Switzerland, and Spain, the globetrotting songwriter has cultivated a sound that feels like a well-worn passport—full of diverse entries but inherently singular. His latest offering, ‘Underground Love’, serves as a standout chapter in an already prolific career that spans eight albums and hundreds of thousands of streams.

While Brocchi has previously explored the grander anthemic territories of pop-rock, drawing frequent comparisons to the likes of Green Day and Bon Jovi, his new single leans into a sophisticated, sun-drenched nostalgia. It is a track built on a foundation of organic instrumentation: steady percussion, melodic basslines, and a tapestry of electric and acoustic guitars. The result is a guitar-driven warmth reminiscent of Tom Petty’s Heartland rock or the earnest, dusty folk-rock of Ryan Adams.

Lyrically, the song tackles the universal ache of searching for authenticity. It navigates a landscape of emotional setbacks and empty promises, hunting for a connection that isn't just "mainstream." The production journey for the track was as international as the artist himself, with sessions moving between Brazil and Spain. To provide the final polish, Brocchi took the recordings to the hallowed halls of Abbey Road Studios. There, it was handled by Grammy-winning mastering engineer Sean Magee, a man whose credits include legends like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Magee’s touch ensures that while the song feels emotionally raw and intimate, it carries a high-fidelity sheen that demands to be heard on a good pair of speakers. Reflecting on the track’s creation, Bruno noted, “It’s one of my favourite songs that I’ve written, capturing the energy and joy I felt during the creative process. I hope it brings you the same good vibes I experienced while making it.”

Having recently relocated to Brussels, Brocchi is currently plotting a series of intimate acoustic dates across Europe. For those who can’t make it to a front-row seat just yet, the record provides a perfect introduction to his world-weary but optimistic storytelling.

You can find ‘Underground Love’ on all major streaming platforms now. To keep up with Bruno Brocchi’s upcoming European tour dates and future releases, give him a follow on Instagram and Facebook.
