Vienna-based Argentinian guitarist and songwriter Paul Bonahora has released a new single, 'Path of Love,' showcasing his unique collaborative rock project, BONAHORA. Seamlessly blending the nostalgic crunch of classic rock with a vibrant, modern sound, this track is the second to drop from a forthcoming six-track EP, due for monthly release following the holidays.
'Path of Love' is an emotional tour de force, anchored by a truly powerful vocal performance from hard rock royalty, Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group). Fans of retro-driven, cinematic rock should pay close attention; Bonahora himself describes the song as having a "Stranger Things–style mood," a nod to the compelling '80s aesthetic and sound that underpins the composition.
But this track is more than just a throwback to a golden age of rock. The lyrics behind the song are inspired by a letter Paul discovered after his father’s passing. The letter’s reflections on life, the universe, and the concept of an eternal existence formed the core of the song. Paul has woven fragments of this correspondence into the lyrics, resulting in a contemplative piece that grapples with loss and acceptance.
"It reflects on life, the universe, and the idea of transcending into something eternal" explains Paul. He continues to articulate the song's thematic focus: "exploring how we learn to give a new place to the people we love once they’re gone — turning loss into acceptance and finding meaning in the way they continue to exist in us."
The collaborative spirit of BONAHORA is clearly alive here. Alongside Romero's commanding vocals, the track boasts the talents of two Argentinian powerhouses, Fernando Scarcella on drums and Pablo Motyczak on bass, both formerly of Rata Blanca. This meeting of international rock minds, produced by PAF Music in Buenos Aires, has created a cohesive, hard-hitting single that should delight discerning rock enthusiasts.
The release is accompanied by a new lyric video, inviting listeners to connect directly with the heartfelt narrative. With this single setting a high standard, the upcoming collaborative EP is definitely one to look out for.
