Arriving hot on the heels of a standout performance at this year’s 2000trees festival, the track sets the stage for a co-headline tour across the UK and Ireland this November alongside Cork’s alt-stoner rock trio, The Last Vinci.
'Leave My Life Behind' is a massive, singalong anthem that showcases the trio’s undeniable flair for combining bruising riffs with what has been affectionately described elsewhere as a 'boyband-esque' three-part vocal attack. This track is rooted in the relatable struggle of wanting to escape hardship, trading their recent hardcore-tinged single, 'If You Can’t Beat Them, Join Them', for a more vulnerable, melodic approach. Guitarist Dan Thould pulled back the curtain on the track’s emotional core, revealing its origins during a difficult period: “Leave My Life Behind was written during a pretty sad time - a time when I felt like I wanted to leave everything behind instead of facing up to what was happening to me, and the effect it was having on my life. Rationally, we all know that’s a terrible idea - but at the time, leaving my life behind sounded more and more enticing by the minute.” This raw honesty is what truly elevates the music, making their colossal sound feel intimate and deeply personal.
Their upcoming co-headline run with The Last Vinci promises to be a riotous fusion of melody and muscle. The tour kicks off with a four-date run in England before heading across the Irish Sea for four nights.
