Swansea four-piece Trampolene have unveiled a captivating new perspective on a familiar favourite, enlisting Ride guitarist and Oasis bassist Andy Bell to rework their defining live anthem, 'Storm Heaven'. Released under Bell’s electronic moniker GLOK, the track shifts from its traditional rock roots into a hypnotic, sprawling sonic landscape.
The backbone of this new rendition is frontman Jack Jones’s distinct vocal delivery. Andy Bell explained how the collaboration fell into place: "Jack's spoken word on 'Storm Heaven' was the catalyst for me choosing this track to work on. I wanted to set his marvellous speaking voice against an electronic setting, and this was a remix which came together easily and pretty quickly, which is always a good sign."
For Jones, handing over the stems carried deep emotional weight. The original track, which closed out their 2017 debut record 'Swansea To Hornsey', is built on deeply personal foundations. "‘Storm Heaven’ has always meant a great deal to me because it was inspired by something my grandfather used to say before he passed away," Jones shared. "That made trusting someone else with it feel significant, but Andy was the perfect person. I’ve admired his music for years, and he found something in the song that even I hadn’t heard before. He kept the heart of the original while opening it up into something completely new. It feels like discovering the song all over again."
Musically, the cut remains a testament to the group’s tight-knit bond and artistic focus, with Jones's punchy, descriptive stanzas drawing natural parallels to fellow Swansea literary icon Dylan Thomas.
The Welsh outfit are currently firing on all cylinders. Having spent the last few months touring France, Wales, and England alongside heavyweights like Public Image Ltd and Babyshambles, their momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Following a busy summer schedule packed with festivals and a high-octane Moto Grand Prix appearance, the band will hit the road later this year for autumn and winter support slots with Republica, Ocean Colour Scene, and Happy Mondays.
The new remix adds another stellar entry to an impressive catalogue that already boasts four studio albums, two Independent Chart number ones, and main-stage pedigree alongside Liam Gallagher.
