London-based quintet Marsy are capping off a busy year with the announcement of their second extended play of 2026. Set to drop on 20 November via Heavenly Recordings, the 'Miss Wave' EP promises a five-track dive into a soundscape that blends pastoral folk with angular, guitar-driven energy. The release arrives hot on the heels of their 'Magic' EP, proving the group is riding a serious creative wave and finding deep cohesion in their uniquely off-kilter sound.
To celebrate the announcement, the band has shared the EP’s title track, which is already available to stream. It offers a perfect window into the group's evolving dynamic, showcasing a hypnotic drone that feels both grounding and expansive.
Much of the upcoming record was laid down in Margate under the guidance of producer Mike Lindsay, who also worked on their previous release. However, the quintet wasn't afraid to shift their environment to capture the right mood; the track ‘My Old Guy’ was recorded at France’s Blackbox studio, while ‘All My Love’ retains the intimate, unvarnished charm of a bedroom demo.
At the core of Marsy’s sound is lead vocalist and songwriter Hannah Rodgers, whose lifelong relationship with music stems from childhood kitchen harmonising to Dolly Parton and Robert Plant. Her lyricism often acts as a compass through personal chaos, an approach brilliantly highlighted in the project’s lead single.
Reflecting on the new song, Rodgers shared: "'Miss Wave' was written at a time when I was really struggling to deal with massive feelings that were essentially drowning me. It was like a mantra back when I was finding it harder to manage life and needed a reminder not to give in and act out on impulse. I think that night I wrote it, a few glasses of wine in, somewhere in my subconscious ‘It Be’s That Way Sometimes’ by Nina Simone was probably playing in my head."
The current lineup—featuring Hannah alongside her brother Luke, Ruby, Lucy, and Sean—took time to solidify, but their recent gigs across London’s grassroots circuit and support slots for acts like Saint Etienne prove they have finally found their stride.
'Miss Wave' is shaping up to be a deeply personal, wonderfully engaging listen. Be sure to stream the brand new title track ahead of the EP's November release, and follow Marsy on Instagram to keep up with all their latest news and upcoming live dates.
