Low Aura Shares A Textured, Ensnaring Glimpse of His New Album

Hailing from Santa Barbara, California, producer and singer-songwriter Anthony Negrete, better known as Low Aura, is carving out a unique space for himself. With influences spanning a diverse spectrum from ambient to dubstep and R&B to Hip-hop, his music offers a different and deeply personal sonic journey.

His recently released album, ‘T.E.M.P.T.’, is a testament to this eclectic fusion, drawing on the cinematic qualities of James Blake and the experimental nature of HAAi. In celebration of the album, Low Aura has shared a tantalising glimpse of the record, with the title track serving as a perfect introduction to Low Aura's distinctive sound. It's a vibrant and deliberately chaotic track, built from a series of quick cuts, rhythmic pulses, and stark, shifting sounds.

Yet, beneath this energetic exterior lies a delicate, atmospheric core. The track's easy back-and-forth feels almost like a conversation, weaving through the underlying beats with a graceful fluidity. Floating piano keys and industrial-etched tones come together to form a loose, melodic structure that feels both soft and intricate. It's a track that rewards careful listening, revealing new textures with each pass.

In interviews, Low Aura shared that he puts his personal emotions into the instrumentation and effects, rather than the lyrics, which he leaves open to interpretation for the listener. This is embodied in 'T.E.M.P.T.', where the shifting moods and soundscapes tell their own story.

The inspiration behind this creative philosophy comes from artists like James Blake, whose work has been described as "gently immense" and who excels at building evocative worlds through sound design. Similarly, Negrete's music shares a "no fucks given" attitude towards genre boundaries, much like HAAi's psychedelic and experimental DJ sets.

Low Aura’s willingness to experiment and his passion for creating a unique experience are what makes his music so compelling. He has successfully crafted an album that is both minimal and complex, a sonic adventure that feels both strange and beautifully cohesive. ‘T.E.M.P.T.’ is an invitation to get lost in an ethereal, emotive soundscape and a powerful statement from an artist who is just getting started.
