Aaron Rowe, the rapidly ascending Irish singer-songwriter, today releases his highly-anticipated debut EP, 'Exodus'. Following a string of successful early singles like 'Hey Ma', 'Talking With You', and 'Lose Lose', the five-track collection serves as a powerful first statement, cementing his place as one of the most compelling new voices in music.
'Exodus' is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a snapshot of Rowe’s journey so far. Written during a pivotal period of leaving home and searching for a new sense of belonging, the EP is both deeply personal and universally resonant. The title itself is a nod to a key influence, Bob Marley’s album of the same name. "I was going through my notes yesterday and found an old notebook from months ago. That was the very first title I’d written down. It stuck with me," Rowe explains. "I’d been thinking about Bob Marley’s 'Exodus' at the time, playing around with titles. His circumstances were different, of course, but I admired what that record represented - moving from Jamaica to London, feeling caught between two communities. That resonated with me. So, it’s not my story, but I wanted to tip my hat to it."
For Rowe, the EP captures the universal feeling of transition and growth. Inspired by the long history of migration from his native Ireland, the record explores themes of movement and change. "I don’t want to tell people how to feel," he says. "Art should be in the eye of the beholder. I just put the songs out there, and everyone can find their own meaning." With influences ranging from the soulful warmth of Motown to raw reflections on homesickness, 'Exodus' offers a musical home for anyone navigating their own journey.
The release of 'Exodus' caps off a phenomenal summer for the young artist. His live shows have been a highlight, with a notable Glastonbury debut that drew a packed crowd and a stunning live session at the BBC Music Glastonbury Treehouse studio. Rowe has also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music, including support slots for Zach Bryan at BST Hyde Park, Ed Sheeran in Ipswich, and Sam Fender in Belfast. He also delivered a standout performance on the mainstage of Electric Picnic and is currently supporting Lewis Capaldi on his full, sold-out UK and Ireland arena tour.
With an upcoming debut US tour announced for October, Aaron Rowe is proving that his star is only continuing to rise. 'Exodus' is a testament to his honest and heartfelt approach to songwriting, an artist whose music truly resonates with a profound sense of home.
