It has been a long time coming for fans of UK post-punk royalty The Horrors. After more than a decade since their last full-scale headline run on our shores, the band is finally returning to Australia next week to celebrate their atmospheric new era. Kicking off at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Friday, 10 April, the tour marks a massive homecoming for a band that has spent twenty years refusing to sit still.
Adding more fuel to the fire, the band has just confirmed that Sydney’s own rising provocateurs, G.U.N, will be joining them for the majority of the tour. Known for their self-description as “drama class with sex appeal,” G.U.N have become a powerhouse in the local underground. Their performances are less like traditional gigs and more like high-concept performance art, blending vulnerability and soul into something truly singular. Fresh off a standout appearance at Dark Mofo 2025 and a nomination for FBi Radio’s Best Live Act, they are the perfect sonic foil for The Horrors’ dark, sprawling energy.
The Horrors’ own journey has been one of constant metamorphosis. From the scuzzy, organ-drenched garage-goth of their 2007 debut 'Strange House' to the sweeping, shoegaze heights of the Mercury-nominated 'Primary Colours' and the NME Award-winning 'Skying', they’ve never been afraid of a sharp left turn. Their latest evolution comes in the form of their sixth studio album, 'Night Life'.
Unlike the gritty industrial assault of their 2021 EPs 'Lout' and 'Against The Blade', 'Night Life' is a record of space and introspection. The band describes it as: “A record of weight and space; of melancholy and euphoria; a record that has the ability to make bedfellows of seemingly disparate ideas as only The Horrors can. The ‘Night Life’ here is not the vim and vigour of pubs and clubs. It’s the thoughts that happen under the cover of darkness; the places your mind takes you when the rest of the world is asleep.”
With a refreshed line-up and a sound that recaptures the instinctive spirit of their early days while pushing into new, shadowy territories, this is not a tour to be missed. Catch them across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide this month.
