Lost Ambitions is an artist who genuinely puts their heart and soul – and their entire life's journey – into their music. The producer, who grew up on a steady diet of Launchpad apps and GarageBand, credits seeing Zedd’s True Colours tour in 2015 as the moment the dream truly began. Now, with a sound that weaves together the electrifying energy of colour bass and future riddim, they are ready to step into the spotlight with their latest track, 'All Of Me', due out on November 15th and available to pre-save now on Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer.
We recently caught up with Lost Ambitions to dive into the deep lore behind the project, their long search for the perfect vocal, and what they’ve learnt from the underground dubstep scene. It’s clear this release is more than just a song—it’s a major cornerstone in their personal and artistic journey.
Thanks so much for stopping by to chat about the new single! Let’s dig right into the heart of it – where did the project begin, and what can you tell us about the new single ahead of its release?
“The Lost Ambitions project began in 2021, it was an official rebrand of me. It’s actually a heavy lore of my life as itself. I was in a dark time in my life, and I had lost a lot of things I held so close to me. The only thing that I was able to do was put those emotions in a computer and created my physical manifestation of how I was feeling back then, but this is just the short story. Very few know the whole story, and I probably leave it at that.”
“When creating ‘All of Me’ I was continuing the lore of the Lost Ambitions project. I wanted people to know that this is the very next chapter of not only Lost Ambitions but also who and how I am personally. This is the next big step for me. And I’m taking all of me to the next big thing.”
Were there any artists, moments, or experiences that influenced you when creating the release?
“At the time I was listening to artists like Daeya, Skybreak, Dani Demands, Paper Skies, Syrum, Kowai and so much more from the underground dubstep scene. During this time, I needed to unleash what I call ‘the awakening’, what Lost Ambitions can bring to the table. So, I’d like to thank these guys for helping find a sound I am so passionate about.”
How would you describe the sound on the upcoming single?
“I’ve been listening to a lot of colour bass and future riddim as of late, and the sound really gives me that dopamine boost. So, I really wanted to see if I can give my spin of it.”
What was your songwriting process? How did it all come together, especially as you were starting to dip into new sounds?
“This release has taken me about a year to complete. I really didn’t know where I wanted to go with this when I started. And searching for the right vocal took toooooo long on Splice.”
You’ve spoken about dark times, and how this song is taking that next step – was this a central theme of the song?
“I wanted people to know with this song who Lost Ambitions is. This song is a stone in my life.”
What’s the most important thing when you’re writing a song?
“I’d say the most important thing in writing is to have fun and put as much passion into it as humanly possible. Because if you half-ass it, well you get what you put into it.”
Do you have any advice for bands and artists who are just starting out and trying to make their mark?
“If I were to give any advice, have fun.”
What has been your best moment as a musician or band so far? What has the reception to your latest release been like?
“With this song out I am happy to leave a mark, I have impacted whoever it will be.”
